Press Release:
Central Saint Martins BA Graphic Design Degree Show 2010 opens on Tuesday 15th June

Released 9th June 2010

The Central Saint Martins Graphic Design Degree Show is here.

The show represents the culmination of three years learning, research and development by our students and provides a great opportunity to see the work of tomorrow's leading designers, illustrators, film-makers, advertising creatives and photographers. Central Saint Martins prides itself on producing some of the most influential international design talent, whose work continues to engage audiences with innovative thinking and fresh approaches to graphic design. Animation, typography, advertising, photography, film, illustration, printmaking and interactive design are just a few of the kinds of work on display.

Each year students from the course win more D&AD awards than any other college worldwide, and this year is no exception. Micheline Mannion was awarded D&AD Student of the Year '09 as well as a First Prize for a book covers designed for Faber & Faber; a quirky design combining cutting edge technology with the highlighter pen to create a personalised book covers. Anders Godal & Martin Batt were also awarded a First Prize for an innovative loyalty card scheme in which you can invest your points to influence companies' actions, from environmental campaigns to sneaker designs.

This year's show includes several designers in residence, who will be working throughout the week in the space, giving everyone a chance to experience the design process first hand. They have already been sent briefs from design studios Hudson-Powell and Inventory, from Wayne Daly of the Architectural Association, from a lawyer and from a priest. Other events include a Book Club and a series of talks by students about their influences and inspiration.

We also have a new venue this year: The Nicholls and Clark Building on Shoreditch High Street, just minutes from Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street station. The show will run from Tuesday 15th June to Monday 21st June, open daily from 12noon to 8pm (except Wednesday, 'til 5pm, and Saturday, 'til 4pm).

More information about the show and a full exhibition catalogue can be found online at csmgraphicdesign.com.
